In a bubble of light (The night shift)

A portrait of a night shift in the Emergency Department of Padua Hospital, one of the largest university hospital in Italy: healthcare workers moving around the avenue leading from the main hospital building to the COVID-area of Emergency Department (they wear full personal protective equipment all night long), walking alone like in a "bubble of light". That's a place that never sleeps surrounded by a sleeping city, a small spot of light in the dark. This images aims also to be a psychological portrait of the consequences that the difficult fight against pandemic has brought to the healthcare professionals: stress, burnout syndrome and loneliness.
