Sound of Silence

"In restless dreams I walked alone, narrow streets of cobblestone". Lyrics from the world hit by Simon and Garfunkel "Sound of Silence". This song, but also many pictures by Edward Hopper, inspired me to create the photo project "Sound of Silence". Do we walk alone or do we walk lonely?

The focus of the photo project "Sound of Silence" is on people who catch my eye because they stand out either consciously alone or perhaps lonely (this cannot be recognised as an outsider). There is no interaction of the persons with others, the gaze either goes into the void or into the distance. As a viewer of the pictures, one is at a distance from the protagonists of the respective scenery. The pictures should radiate a calm mood and a slight melancholy may calmly overlay them.
