Limitation

Hello, I am Sara Annunziata and I am an undergraduate student, major in Photography and minor in Film Studies, at Fine Arts department, Concordia University in Montréal.

With my project, I want to show what it means to grow up in a society where you have to follow pre-established models. According to my personal interpretation, I believe that people are confined and imprisoned in a character that does not belong to them and this doesn't allow them to be who they are and who they want to be. This leads them to self-dissatisfaction and a mind ruled by darkness, which prevents them from shining

To produce my artwork, I’ve focused more and more on the field of conceptual photography to express my ideas about what is happening in the world around me through photos, in particular, I’ve been focusing on the following topics:
• gender stereotypes;
• gender violence;
• homophobia;
• psychological violence.
