Faroe Islands
Faroe Islands
Minimalism landscape photography of the Faroe Islands:
Picture 01: "Lonely Island"
Description: Sky and ocean melting together, embracing the lonely island.
The photograph unites remoteness and harsh climate while embodying a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
Picture 02: "Cascades"
Description: Charmed by pastel greens the river inconspicuously flows from the distance to the cascades, which are witness of the power this stream can develop.
Picture 03: "Abrasion"
Description: Abrasion happening incessantly but unseen within the moment.
Reminds that change is the only thing that does not change in nature.
Picture 04: "Breakwater"
Description: Solitary standing this natural breakwater with its unique form, slowly separating from the land
it used to be a part of. Within this process it becomes an ever changing sculpture.
Author
My priority in landscape photography is the place itself, rather than the perfect light or conditions. I take places as nature presents them to me. Over time, aerial photography has become an important part of my work as the change in perspective can transform the most inconspicuous landscapes to abstract patterns that invite to guess what you are actually looking at. Most of my work is project based, so I am using whatever camera and medium fits best to the project. That means my aerial photography is produced mostly with digital full frame cameras while black and white film photography has become my preference for classical landscape photography.
