Thunderstorm from Mauna Kea Slopes Hawai'i Island

Lightning storms are unusual in Hawai'i. During the fall of 2021, a series of storms has brought more of these atmospheric displays to the Island of Hawai'i with stunningly beautiful results when seen from the slopes of Mauna Kea.

Growing up on the edge of the Teton Wilderness in Wyoming instilled a deep appreciation of our world's beauty and the desire to preserve it.
