Groningen is the northern provence of the Netherlands which mostly consists of reclaimed land from the sea. It is a rural area mainly inhabitated and kept by farmers. Notoriously flat and always windy, the countryside is well suited for minimalistic photography. This style fits well with this area where people are known to use no more words than are needed to express a thought.
The images are shot on film (portra and provia) with an analogue panoramic camera. The colors and the panoramic view emphasize the rural character of Groningen.
