WHEN I WAS A MANGROVE TREE
WHEN I WAS A MANGROVE TREE
This set of photos is part of my project on Mangroves.
We are facing the covid pandemic firsthand. But let's not forget that we are also indirectly affected by climate change and global warming. One of the reasons comes from the decline in mangrove area and the lack of understanding of people about mangroves in limiting the impact of climate change.
Vietnam is a coastal country severely affected by climate change. However, the area of mangrove forest has decreased sharply due to deforestation for salt farming and shrimp farming, and the impacts of natural disasters have weakened this precious ecosystem.
The artworks provides information about the role and sensitivity of the mangrove ecosystem. Through artworks to spread knowledge to everyone.
The larger goal of the project is to be part of a fundraising campaign to plant mangroves in Vietnam next year.
The set of photos was taken at home during the quarantine.
Author
Biography: Chiron Duong
I am Chiron Duong ( real Name: Dat Duong ). Born in 1996 in Vietnam. I went to architectural college in Vietnam and now i’m working as an architect and a fashion photographer. The inspiration in my fashionable works comes from the Vietnamese or Asian traditional culture that I have learned from the passion and people. The Asian tones are not only extremely flamboyant, floating but also generous, ruminant, and meaningful. In other ways, i want to transmit the feelings of mystery of folk, faith, and religion in the lives of ASIANS by colors and spiritual fashionable photos as well as the interference of Western and Eastern culture, especially Vietnamese culture. I practice many techniques in photography to create emotion in my works instead of trying to create a visual impress.
