"Fusion", Cliché-verre, Cameraless photograph, 20" x 20" chromogenic print on Fujicolor Professional DP II Lustre photographic paper. Edition of 20.
Cliché-verres is an ongoing series of cameraless photographs that is a result of the artist searching for ways of working outside of the darkroom — from home — throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Each piece documents her investigation into how traditional art supplies and materials interact and chemically react with household substances.
Charlotte Greenwood is an environmentally concerned experimental photographer based in the North East of England who works with both analogue and digital mediums. Inspired by organic form, texture and abstraction, her practice explores the unpredictability and uncontrollability of nature. Through her work, she presents unseen perspectives of the natural world that offer viewers new ways of seeing and allow them to perceive the micro details within it that are usually invisible to the naked eye.
Author
Charlotte Greenwood is an experimental fine artist based in North Yorkshire, England, working with both analogue and digital mediums, predominantly within the realm of cameraless photography.
Originally from Lancashire, she moved to London in 2017 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration and Visual Media at the University of the Arts London, from which she graduated with First-Class Honours in 2021.
Charlotte uses her great affinity for the natural world as the main motivator for her work, further informed by her research into biophilic design. Particularly in the context of the current climate crisis, her work aims to encourage nature connectedness and appreciation, pro-environmental behaviour, and heightened observation of the everyday excellence in our seemingly mundane surroundings.
Charlotte has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, including a notable exhibition at the Royal Photographic Society in Bristol.
