In castelluccio di Norcia, in late spring, between the end of May and the beginning of July, the famous phenomenon of flowering takes place where together with the flowers of lentils, cornflowers, gentians, daisies, narcissus, poppies, ranunculus, violets and many other floral species , flourish at the same time transforming this expanse into a vast multitude of colors, creating an explosion worthy of a famous impressionistic work. The lentil, called "slow" by the inhabitants, is the representative product par excellence that is grown in Castelluccio. It is an annual plant that is sown after the snow cover has melted and whose flowering takes place between the months of May and July. Until the end of July when the "carpinatura" begins, that is the harvest that was once done exclusively by hand
