Kazuhito "Kai" Hirai is a freelance photographer based in Norway since 1988. He has been travelling around the world since he was a teenager, always accompanied by his camera. Hirai-san used to live in Australia, UK and USA before love hit him during a trip to Tibet. It was his karma to meet a Norwegian and settle in Norway.
Hirai-san has previously been working commercially with photos and editorial feature stories for the tourism export market in Norway. He has edited several editorial supplements for Tourism authorities of Thailand, printed in Norways’ biggest newspaper Aftenposten, and has done press covering of various Thailand events in Norway and Thailand. The last ten years, his interest for photo art has grown. His interests are landscape, wildlife and portraits. Regardless of motive, he is always looking for a certain tranquility in his motives, a subtle peace that reflects his inner personality.
