Mahogany Heaven
Mahogany Heaven
I own a mahogany speed boat from the early 60's. Being on a lake with that boat, just by myself, gets me away from all troubles and worries. Nothing else matters — it’s just me and my boat. I thus wanted to capture that feeling on film. For that, I used the slowest form of photography: pinhole photography. These self-portraits were taken with a Leoruge 45 4x5 inch pinhole camera on Fomapan 400 film. The exposure time was 45 seconds, the camera was on a tripod but not secured and I was scared I drop it into the lake. But then again, the camera is made entirely of wood, so maybe it would float?
