Dassanech women of the Omo Valley in Ethiopia wear beautiful beads and feathers but they have also found innovative use of what we would consider ‘discards’ as items of decoration - old watch straps, watch backings, tweezers but especially bottle caps. We might find that amusing but these women exude quiet dignity and charm as they wear their unique ornaments with pride.
