Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter
As the world shed’s light onto the Black Loves Matter Movement, I have found it imperative for Non-Black POC to unify for the cause. Despite the hardships faced by all minority communities in the United States, the Black community is one that receives change at a slower rate. The beauty of this time lays within the to action. Allies are required to educate themselves on the condition of ‘blackness’. As a Latinx woman, I was familiar with the hardships of my fellow POC. I see, now, the depth.
The systematic oppression of the African American community is deep. Despite their many fights for equality, they have yet to receive it. They are still deemed as less than. They are the “other” amongst all other minorities. Yet, had it not been for their movements America’s diversity could not exist.
It is beautiful to see a unified voice within the country. 2020, has ignited diverse communities to make change.
As other minorities become active allies, they set the stage for the Black community
