Fire & Ice
After a near perfect day in the NSW Snowy Mountains we returned to our camp for a quick bite to eat before heading off again to see what the almighty golden hour might provide for us. Just as we all got into position the clouds rolled in thick and fast until we were engulfed by a 360 degree view of nothing but white.
After 30 minutes or so the clouds gave way to a hazy blotted view of the ridge and the decision was made to take the opportunity. Only to be once again completely consumed by a white out. It's almost as if the entire world disappears in that moment, the wind stops you from hearing anything but your thoughts and direction stops existing (without a compass).
Then, as if it was gifted to us, a hole in the clouds broke open and revealed the two riders hiking their way back up the ridge, with this as the backdrop. I couldn't believe it.
After an intense year of fires and covid, this image summed it all up to me in a way that only life can script.
