Impossible Places
Impossible Places
Impossible Places is the creation of a new reality, through research based on memory.
The work concerns collages made with paper materials such as postcards, brochures, vintage magazines that I collected while traveling with my family. The collages are composed both manually and digitally and have therefore been photographed. The purpose of these photographs is to collect elements of past experiences and bring them to present, reworking them, creating the illusion of a new space; a sort of "Madeleine de Proust", the creation of impossible but also possible places, since they are present in the personal and collective memory and revived in the dimension of the image.
Author
Giorgia Bisanti is an Italian photographer and visual artist. She studied at Academy of fine Arts in Naples graduating in Scenography and then in Photography.
Her artistic research ranges between the themes of personal and collective memory, perception, the relationship between man and the landscape. In her vision, photography is a language that is never realistic and objective, but a means to arrive at a truth that is found within ourselves.
Her work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Naples, Rome, Turin, Athens).
In 2018 she had a solo exhibition at Area 35 mm gallery in Naples.
