The Digital Cage
The Digital Cage
In the first week of march 2020, the city where I live in Italy was put in quarantine. It had been a month since I'd been home, the only reason I could go out was to buy groceries.
One day, going through my archive, I found some film photographs I took of nature, before the quarantine.
And it made me reflect on how, when I was able to go out, I chose to stay home, and now that I was locked in I realized how much I gave for granted going out in nature.
I transformed the film photographs into digital photographs, showing pixels through the transperancy of the negatives, locking them in a "Digital Cage" Just how I was locked at home. The only way I could see nature was through my computer.
