Portraits of a Dream

There are those who say that dreams are a discharge of stimuli that the human being is bombarded when he is conscious, receiving through the senses.

In Freud's point of view, the dream is nothing more than the "space to fulfill repressed unconscious desires", and the visual (or conscious) part of the dream can be called manifest content, this being a result of what our mind allows it to be explored in the dream.

With this project I intend to simulate a photographic report to a dream, it is not important who dreams, but what that person sees or remembers. The dreamer somewhere in time saw a female figure that aroused some desire and his mind imprisoned and repressed, in the tangle of thoughts. This series of photographs is like an outcrop of that visual fragment that the dreamer obtained, and that his mind complemented through the manifested content by realizing the desire to be able to be with this female figure face to face, capturing several moments of this dream encounter .

I am a natural and resident in the municipality of Torres Vedras, Lisbon, Portugal, I initially took the Photography Courses: Hobbie or Profession - Level I and II at the ATV - Academic of Torres Vedras in 2016, participating in the collective exhibitions resulting from the work done during the courses . I was a finalist in the 4th edition of the Snap It by Skoda - Photography Prize contest in 2017. I also took the Professional Photography Course at Escola Oficina da Imagem in 2018 in Monte Abraão, Queluz.
