Hamburger Dom: a noisy place in complete silence
Hamburger Dom: a noisy place in complete silence
Northern Europe's largest funfair, whose colourful stands are usually vying loudly for passers-by with rattling jingles and flashing lights - for a change completely calm. In times of pandemic a picture of forced standstill.
The series of photographs puts the rides' structures into the light - or rather into the dark - and opens up unusual perspectives on the architecture of the individual rides. As if frozen, carousels, autodromes, air and ship swings, roller coasters and food stands stand still and deprived of their actual purpose in a deserted space.
A fairground hype without hype - reduced to the forms of the rides' architecture, which look like abandoned spaceships from a bygone era.
