Parks and No Recreation
Parks and No Recreation
It is titled, "Parks and No Recreation", which I undertook over the course of 4 months under lockdown. It is a study of the effects of lockdown on our children's recreational areas and playgrounds in England. Communal places of play that have visually changed since the pandemic. Parks that would have been well-loved and well maintained and cleaned by local authorities suddenly looked forlorn, unkempt - forgotten. Places that once were so full of life and energy now looked so bleak. I wanted to capture the emotional response it had on me and no doubt countless families who now had to simply pass their once loved parks. They are in a kind of limbo which many of us are also experiencing.
