Dalmatian pelicans (Pelecanus crispus), the bird presented in the picture, is the representative of birds, inserted in the Red book of endangered animals. Fortunately thanks to conservation actions taken a few years ago the population of this fantastic bird is growing.
This specific picture has been taken during the photo trip to Greece, on Kerkini lake, where a big population of these impressive birds, spends winter. Last morning of the trip was cloudy and slightly foggy. The water surface was plain and not disturbed by any wind. Pelicans which were landing nearby our boat were reflecting in the mirror of the water. My first attempts to catch that effect failed because there was too little light. I tried panning and it let me eventually catch the bird sharp, just a moment before it spoiled the immaculate surface.
