Underwater shooting. French Polynesia, Rangiroa atoll, February 2019.

First I saw her. I swam to join her while trying to check the settings of my camera. I felt my heart beating and thought about my air consumption. Don’t use air too much! Stay calm! The turtle was not paying attention to me. She was nibbling coral, fluttering in the current that pushed us together in a dance. I was struggling to find the best position in order to take the right photo. I flashed many times, hoping to be right in focus. The beauty did not try to move away from me.
