It hasn't been an easy road for the Iguana. As a native to South America, the Iguana was first introduced to Florida through the exotic pet trade. Released by their owners into the wild, Iguanas have continued breeding in massive numbers, presenting challenges to the ecosystem as well as homeowners across the state. Several local governments have approved the mass killings of this reptile. They never asked to be here, and yet, it is here they are, and their journey is far from over.
