Aging and Sexuality in America

This portrait was taken as part of a personal project that is close to my political and social consciousness. I wanted to address the aging female population and capture images that were provocative, as there is a prevalent attitude of ageism as it relates to sexuality, in the United States. I want viewers to connect with this population through my image. I want viewers to understand that older people still embrace their sexuality. I wanted my subject to wear something that made her feel attractive, yet juxtapose that feeling with reality, as portrayed in an environmental portrait. The environment in the picture is just as much a subject as the woman.
