Life Of A Kazakh-Mongolian Family
Life Of A Kazakh-Mongolian Family
Over the past few years, I have been able to spend time submerged in the culture of this Kazakh family in Northwestern Mongolia. They live a nomadic lifestyle, moving their family, belongings, and livestock up to 6 times a year. Their lives revolve around family and traditions and the weather. This family has been passing down the skills of eagle hunting and herding for generations. Their lives are spent working hard and taking care of each other. In my time spent with them, I realized we in the West have a lot to learn from a life like this. They live with open hearts and open homes. No one is a stranger and they never forget a face. Despite modern accouterments like cell phones, satellite connections, solar power, and modern clothing (among just a few things ) you'll still find their lives revolve around a traditional nomadic way of life.
