Transition

“Transition” is a project that portrays the life of ex-inmate in their processes of reintegration into society, a life spent in a limbo between the hell of jail and the paradise of freedom.
The project shows the day by day inside the welcome center of the foundation “Obra Mercedaria” in Barcelona, which offers a safe place to sleep and eat for those who do not have a family or any kind of support from the external word. The goal is to fight against the danger of recidivism.
Along the way these people have to face the prejudices of society, which considers them like a weight without any possibility of integration.
After many years in prison they must also face the exclusion from the work place, due to the fear that people feel towards them.
These two factors make them even more hopeless to find the freedom that they was hoping for many years.
