Gaze
Gaze
Gaze reveals intimate encounters with marine animals through close observation of their eyes. By isolating this feature, the series highlights the diversity of form, color, and texture found beneath the ocean’s surface. Tight framing and carefully placed light draw attention to the cosmic storms visible within their gaze—patterns shaped by environment and evolution. These images highlight the complexity of marine life that often goes unnoticed in fleeting encounters.
Author
I am a professional gymnastics coach and lifelong diver who has been exploring the underwater world for over 17 years. Two years ago, I discovered my passion for underwater photography, which has elevated my love of diving tenfold. Drawn to the unique challenges of macro photography, I focus on the hidden details and elusive creatures of the marine world. The textures, colors, patterns, and diverse life found beneath the surface often feel otherworldly, and I find joy in sharing that wonder with others. Though still a newcomer to photography, I approach it with the same discipline and curiosity I bring to coaching—pushing myself to learn and grow with every opportunity. My aim is to capture fleeting moments and extraordinary sea life in ways that inspire others to appreciate and explore the ocean’s beauty.
