Step Shadows; Shadows on Steps, Columbia University
"Step Shadows; Shadows on Steps, Columbia University" transforms the shadows of handrails falling across white concrete steps into an abstract study of form. Contrast and a minimalist palette reduce a familiar place to its essential shapes. What remains is a composition built from line, light, and negative space. The interplay between apparent solidity and underlying fragility reflects the universal paradox of all things existing in a simultaneous state of creation and destruction.
