Circle of Tradition
Circle of Tradition
On the calm surface of Inle Lake in Myanmar at sunrise, I framed the scene through the curved weave of a fishing net, watching as a lone fisherman balanced effortlessly on the bow of his wooden boat. Each motion was deliberate, practiced through years of repetition and memory. As the sun lifted behind him, illuminating both water and silhouette, I was reminded that tradition is not something preserved in museums, but something lived daily through quiet labor. This moment revealed how culture endures not through spectacle, but through the steady rhythm of hands, water, and time.
