"Know thy self, know thy enemy" is a famous qoute from 'The Art of War' by Chinise Millitary General, Sun Tzu.
In this image, I expore the effects of an abuser after they are gone (implied dead).
You still feel them on you, thier touch, you know them, but they are not here. You know thyself and you know thy enemy, you see for the first time that you can be seperate from them and yet they linger on. Aknowlege they are dead, if they are living or not. Even if they are dead to you only, the first steps to freedom have been taken.
