Memento Mori

Over the past couple of years I have begun taking selfies using the TinType app on my phone. Initially it was just something different to do for fun. But as time went on it became more of a reflection of who I was and what I saw as my place in this world. As I am now in my early 70's the fact of my own mortality has become something I am very much aware of. Just by chance I made this photograph and with some minor work on the computer it came to reflect this growing realization. not in a morbid way but just as a reminder. The good news is that rather than distressing me it has helped me be more a peace with what is to come.
