At the Origin of the World
At the Origin of the World
I am a maternity photographer, documenting the first year of a child’s life. Through my images, I seek to capture the essence of the mother–child bond. I bring my subjects back to what is essential, placing them in warm water, evoking pregnancy and the original refuge. Breastfeeding, skin-to-skin, naked closeness become symbols of purity, of a return to origins.
This series, created in the bath and the shower, highlights the natural beauty of the maternal body, both fragile and strong, and the instinctive tenderness of early life. It is about women who carry, nourish and hold, and children who find refuge in their arms. Whether it is one child or many, the bond remains the same: a raw, primal connection where bodies meet, where instinct guides, where love without condition takes shape.
I explore the poetic dimension of these fleeting moments, where maternity reveals itself in all its truth, natural and instinct, a refuge of warmth and light that unites them forever.
