3 images created in 2025, selected by SCAD Photography faculty from Will M Nichols’ MFA Portfolio. “No Fun” is a self portrait piece exploring the role of censorship in viability of male nude photographs. “David” mirrors “No Fun” using irony in censoring a well known male nude work of art, questioning the ascribed moral differences between photographic and sculptural or painted representations of the male nude. “Body Study” is another piece from Nichols’ portfolio where musculature and glamour create an unexpected tension, while respecting classical lighting and compositional techniques.
