Playful equine grace
Playful equine grace
Playful equine grace stems from observing how horses, even in very different environments, express a combination of strength, social bonds and lightness.
On the Calvana ridge, one of the few places in Italy where a herd still lives in a truly wild state, the animals appear almost posed, like in a family portrait. These scenes reveal dynamics of cooperation and play, aspects often overlooked in favour of human narratives centred on dominance and control.
On the Asiago plateau, a single gesture like a horse scratching itself against a post near barbed wire shows another side of the same relationship. The setting appears dramatic, the risk evident, yet the action is ordinary and humorous.
This series focuses on what lies in between enhanced by the shapes of the horses: the uncrafted beauty and understated tenderness that emerge precisely even when the image might suggest something else.
