Suffering Soul

This deeply melancholic "Yin-Yang" scene depicts a dead bird in an unusual hollow – its home has turned into a concrete prison with no chance of escape. Unfortunately, help came too late... The photograph was taken in central Poland, near a frequently traveled road. The bird is likely a common starling (Sturnus vulgaris). Starlings prefer to build their nests in the hollows of old trees, but such places are becoming increasingly scarce. Now, the Soul of the bird has become a permanent resident of this area.
