Non-Places of Childhood
Non-Places of Childhood
“Non-Places of Childhood” is a series that redefines the concepts of non-place and non-place of memory, shifting them into a personal and nostalgic sphere.
The artist examines the spaces of his hometown - Czestochowa (Poland) - which, for its inhabitants, function as informal sites of memory: courtyards, garages, or alleyways between apartment blocks.
Through interventions in the photographic material, the images of these places acquire the qualities of memories — they become blurred, elusive, and full of emotion.
The result is a magical map of the city, built on memory and shared experience.
