TrapLanta
TrapLanta
TrapLanta is a fully realized body of work built on three core elements.
The writings draw from countless sources, distilling sharp facts from history, philosophy, and geopolitics that invite reflection.
The images come from my daily movements and lived experience; though shaped by place, time, and the people around me, they are visually inspired by Tenebrism and Chiaroscuro of the Baroque tradition.
The juxtaposition is essential, prompting viewers to connect elements that may seem unrelated. This interplay strengthens both text and image, creating a deeper encounter.
TrapLanta draws on Roland Barthes’ ideas of studium and punctum. By guiding attention to each image’s punctum, I shape the viewer’s subjective lens toward empathy and critical thought. The text subtly anchors meaning, resisting the “Death of the Author” while still allowing personal resonance.
