"Links"
The project „Links“ examines the emergence of similar fundamental forms across a variety of subject matter. All photographs depict a scene from real life, some in the close-up. All of the photographs were altered in the editing process, some more heavily than others, with the intention of highlighting or heightening certain qualities present in the original scene.
Through the juxtaposition, it emerges that the fundamental forms, color and overall formal qualities are similar and repeat throughout the subject matter, regardless of whether a scene is shown in the whole, or whether it is captured in fully abstract close-up. Through this series, I wish to examine and reveal fundamental qualities present in all aspects of the external environment, and the blurry boundary between the abstract and the representational. The abstract, though known as being „non-representational“ can assume a representational quality or bear close resemblance to photography that is representational.
