This Asian island is bracing for attack by the Big Brother
This Asian island is bracing for attack by the Big Brother
Holding anti-landing live-fire exercise on islets just 3 kilometres away from China. Staging air-raid evacuation drills. Showcasing indigenous weapons. Civilians taking part in nighttime tactical movement drill.
These are what the Taiwanese authorities, and the island population, are doing to brace for a possible attack by their neighbouring Big Brother.
For Taiwan, that unwanted invasion is not a matter of whether it will happen, but when, and how prepared are they for the worst.
These images taken between 2024 and 2025 explore how the self-governing island in East Asia has been taking the matter into their own hands.
