Industrial archaeology, still life or poor art
Industrial archaeology, still life or poor art
Within the beauty of industrial archaeology, this strange but fascinating Still Life is born, composed of iron and steel shapes held together from bolts and joints.
The series presents the Ca Vedramin pumping stations built in the early years of the last century.
The drainage pumps, a fundamental tool for the mechanized reclamation of the Po Delta, today represent stunning examples of industrial archaeology; the Ca' Vendramin drainage plant is certainly the most significant in the Delta.
But beyond looking at these machines for the use for which they were built, I like to admire them with a more artistic eye, as well as in overall visions, I like to fragment them as if they were sculptures, which we could also define as "exhibition pieces of poor art".
