Nocturnal visit in wonderisland ; Jeju

Located at the southernmost tip of Korea, Jeju is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and unique culture, which have been preserved for generations and are distinct from the mainland. It is one of Korea’s most famous tourist destinations, attracting visitors with its crystal-clear blue seas, island flora, and the relaxed charm exclusive to the island.

However, as an outsider living in Jeju this year, I sought to explore and interpret the hidden allure of the island—something beyond the typical image that most people expect—through my perspective and camera.

One night, while walking under the cover of darkness, I encountered a peculiar yet captivating blue glow that starkly contrasted Jeju's natural beauty. Drawn to this surreal light, I began capturing it. During the day, Jeju embraces its primordial nature, basking in the warm sunlight. But at night, it transforms into something eerie yet breathtaking, veiled in artificial blue light. I found myself wandering aimlessly.
