Highlights in the highlands

Landmannalaugar and its surroundings are probably a highlight of any trip to Iceland. The varied landscape, different at every turn, invites you to explore. The mixture of colorful mountains, glacial rivers and extinct volcanoes never ceases to amaze me. This year I was very lucky, the time of my permit application coincided with a period of good weather with little wind. I also had the first frost and snow on the peaks.
