Land of destructors

Lanzarote is a small volcanic island characterized by a rugged landscape and a significant presence of craters scattered throughout the territory. The most impressive and prolonged eruption in the island's history occurred between 1730 and 1736, bringing to light 100 volcanoes along an 18 km strip, covering nearly a quarter of the island and destroying villages and agricultural lands. In this shot, I aimed to capture one of the volcanic alignments that characterize the landscape of the Timanfaya National Park during sunset. To achieve this aerial image, I took a series of bracketed shots. Subsequently, in post-production, I stitched together the HDR images obtained from each exposure to create a panoramic image.

I am an Italian photographer born in 1996. My photography was born between the cliffs of the Tuscan coast and the great cities of Europe. Over time, however, the need to move away from the frenetic pace and crowding that characterize our present has pushed me towards wild and isolated places, where nature still retains its original silence.
My artistic research takes shape in the Apuan Alps, where I learned to observe nature as a space of energy, stillness, and truth.
I'm often inspired by a phrase that sums up the meaning of my work: “Sometimes someone notices what's happening around us and points it out to the person next to us; thus arises the awareness of the beauty that surrounds us, of its fragility and majesty, and of how ephemeral our existence is, increasingly distant and alienated from the places to which our soul belongs.”
