Guarding the young

A photo of a Xysticus sp. spider guarding her egg sac among some branches. I took this photo in April 2024, on a mountain near Athens, Greece. I shifted my white balance towards blue because I wanted it to look like it was taken during night time, to emphasize the sacrifice this spider makes for the next generation, guarding her eggs day and night until they hatch.
