You are built of light
You are built of light
I capture the liveliness, movement, poetry, gloom and beauty of nature in my photographs. Each picture comes with a poem that I have written for the picture.
With my photographs I explore the border areas between the visible, association and inner life.
Different lighting moods create an atmosphere of poetry and melancholy. The alternation of sharpness and blurring intensifies the perception of colour and makes the special and always momentary nature of individual moments visible.
I work with grease and liquid on the lens. This gives the photographs their poetry and a moment of chance that I really like. I presented the picture submitted here at an art fair in 2024.
The picture is called ‘You are built of light’ and shows a wheat field in late summer. Individual parts of the field are spotlit by the late evening sun.
I would be happy to submit the poem I wrote in German along with a translation if requested.
Author
I studied communication design and graduated with a Diploma in Photography from Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences in 2010.
Today, I run my own design agency and work as a fine art photographer. Since 2019, I’ve taken photographs almost every day. All of my work is created entirely on a smartphone - an important choice, because it allows me to photograph spontaneously during my walks.
I live with a chronic illness, which is why I spend as much time in nature as possible. I often apply grease or liquid to my lens, creating a distinctive glow, softened colours, and the intentionally hazy, elusive character of my images. Inspired by the term “sfumato,” I call these works Sfumatographies.
My work has been shown at various art fairs and group exhibitions, and I collaborate with galleries including Galerie Helligkeit in Munich and Galerie Ostermayr in Nuremberg. In 2026, I will present my first solo exhibition in Nuremberg. Each of my produced photographs is accompanied by a poem.
