Event Horizon

The photos were taken in the Bialowieza Forest, an area that is now a buffer zone on the border with Belarus. Since the outbreak of the migration crisis on the European Union's eastern border, there have been nearly a hundred thousand attempts to enter Poland at this location. An operation organized by the Belarusian and Russian regimes to destabilize the border uses people as living weapons. Trapped in the wilderness, they often spend weeks or even months in the primeval forest, with no way to return or go further. The wilderness, which has withstood human influence for centuries, is now the stage for political struggle, history, and human tragedy. A silent witness, beyond whose borders no shout nor request will escape. An event horizon.
