Ice and Ash

Ribbons of volcanic ash are solidified within the ice caves of Langjökull (meaning “Long Glacier”) in Iceland. The ice of the cave interior is naturally sculpted into curving forms and the trails of ash traverse the flowing frozen walls until the dark lines are indiscernible from each other.
