Rupture
Rupture
The word "rupture" can refer to a sudden interruption or separation, both in terms of physical things like a ruptured muscle or tube, and metaphorically like the collapse of a human being.
The “Rupture” photo series was captured using an analog camera. The reasons for choosing analog photography include:
-The lack of choice in capturing the photo, since in analog photography, errors and the accuracy of the shot are not apparent until the photo is developed.
-The project’s theme involves a character(myself)attempting to escape or transition from a confined space marked with the color red.I utilized red Plexiglas.I made use of slow-speed photography to capture this escape and the effort to move through this constrained space. All photos were created when I was alone, with no assistance from others. The solitude involved in capturing each image reflects the character’s struggle to overcome the conditions depicted.
