Dorka is a talented young Hungarian model. This picture is the result of teamwork with an artist who coaches me on lighting techniques. When entering the studio in Budapest, I immediately noticed this portrait, which reminded me of a retouched color picture. I simply asked Dorka to take a series of poses and, most importantly, to make eye contact with the woman in the portrait. The square format is a choice that came later in the retouching process in order to eliminate anything superfluous from the picture.
