I had planned to take photos at Hohenzollern Castle in Hechingen at sunrise. I was hoping that the castle would be surrounded by a sea of fog. When I arrived at the Zellerhorn viewpoint about an hour before sunrise, there were only a few small fog banks in the valley. I waited a little longer and observed the situation. Although the fog increased slightly in the valley, it quickly became clear that it would not make it up to the castle that day. So I headed home before sunrise without a single picture. On the way I passed Sigmaringen and the Hohenzollern Palace there, the administrative seat of the Princes of Hohenzollern. The sun had recently risen and a few high clouds had gathered in the meantime - the timing was perfect and the conditions were right...

I am a nature photographer - I mainly shoot landscapes, animals and plants.
My goal is to make moody moments last. Colorful sunsets, magical fog moods and the nature in the change of the seasons belong to the highlights in photography for me.
I live in southern Germany on the beautiful Lake Constance, where I have some excellent fotospots right outside the front door. The German, Austrian and Swiss Alps are not far away either. But I also like traveling to more distant destinations around the world.
