Health professionals intervene every day to care for victims
in a dangerous situation.
Specialized in medicalization in “hostile” environments, they
intervene day and night to ensure continuity of the care system with the
conventional prehospital system throughout the French metropolitan territory.
But on the ground, the unexpected sometimes upsets their mental pattern of anticipation, the forcing us to define new priorities to react quickly and well.
From routine mission to the terrorist attack, from the helicopter hoisting at sea to the deployment of a caravan in the mountains, from deep in a damp abyss in the crowded stands of a stadium, they must train without released.
Immersion in the daily life of these extreme medicine driven by a common fervor.

Professional photographer from the Hautes-Pyrénées in France, Rémi Vinas explores what determines the vocation and commitment of humans in their daily lives. Initially passionate about wildlife photography, the former emergency doctor enjoys rediscovering humanism through documentary photography. Drawing on his naturalist expeditions in the Amazon and his medical practice in France, he shares through his reports an intimate look at humans and their determination.
